Ibrahim

Figure 5 of 16 · Water

Water

Ibrahim is figure 5 of the sixteen figures of Ilm al-Raml, in the order taught in The Master of Geomancy. It comes after Iddris and before Issah. Like every figure, it can appear in any of the sixteen houses of a chart, and each time it lands somewhere new, it has something different to say.

Pattern (top to bottom): one dot; one dot; one dot; one dot.

Element: Water. It shares this element with Iddris, Issah, and Hassan & Hussein.

Ibrahim is the only figure made entirely of single dots, so it is the lightest of the sixteen to draw and one of the easiest to spot in a chart. Because every row holds one dot, adding Ibrahim to another figure turns each of that figure’s rows into its opposite: one dot becomes two, and two becomes one. Its exact opposite is Musah, the all-double figure that closes the sequence.

That depends on where it falls in your chart and what you’re asking. The same figure can carry a very different message in the house of wealth than in the house of marriage. Learning to read those shifts is the heart of Ilm al-Raml.
